Centimillionaires by Country

Short answer

The United States has the largest share reported in the public data: Henley & Partners put its share of global centimillionaires measured by liquid investable assets at 38% in 2023, while Knight Frank says the US accounts for over 40% of people with US$100 million or more in net worth. The available figures show China growing fastest over the past decade among the regions compared, but they do not provide a complete current count by country.

What the public data can tell us

"Centimillionaire" means wealth of at least US$100 million, but reports use different measures. Henley & Partners counts liquid investable wealth, including listed shares, cash, and debt-free homes. Knight Frank counts net worth, which includes private holdings. Those measures produce different populations and should be kept distinct.

Knight Frank reports that the US represents over 40% of individuals with US$100 million or more in net worth. In its 2023 report, Henley put the US share of centimillionaires measured by liquid investable wealth at 38%. These are shares from separate reports, with different definitions and dates, so they are not directly interchangeable.

The public statistics summarized here do not give a full, comparable per-country table of centimillionaire counts. In particular, they do not state the current count for each country. Regional growth figures are useful for comparison, but they cannot be converted into country counts.

Ten-year growth by region

Henley's 2024 report compares growth over the preceding decade across China, the US, and Europe. China recorded the strongest growth of the three. The figures indicate how the population of centimillionaires changed in each region, not how many people live there today.

RegionTen-year growth in centimillionairesMeasure
China+108%Liquid investable wealth, Henley & Partners
United States+81%Liquid investable wealth, Henley & Partners
Europe+26%Liquid investable wealth, Henley & Partners

The data suggest that the US remains the leading country by reported share, while China has experienced faster growth over the measured decade. Europe's figure covers a region, not a single country, and should not be read as a country ranking.

City figures, grouped by country

City counts offer another view of where centimillionaires are concentrated. Henley's city estimates count people with at least US$100 million in liquid investable wealth. The table below uses the 2024 report figures included in the available public summary. It does not establish a total for each country: a city count covers only that city, and the report summary does not list every city or country.

ChinaBeijing347

United KingdomLondon370

SingaporeSingapore336

These city figures show why country totals cannot be inferred by adding a handful of leading cities. Other cities are not represented in this table, and Hong Kong is shown as a separate area in Henley's city data. Singapore is both a city and a country; its city figure is not a proxy for counts in other countries.

Henley's report also says about one third of all centimillionaires live in 50 cities, including 15 cities in the US. That concentration gives context to the city data, but does not fill the missing country-by-country count.

Family offices by region

Deloitte's family office data provide a separate regional comparison. These are counts of single family offices, not counts of centimillionaires. They can show where family office structures are reported, but should not be used as a substitute for wealth-population figures.

RegionSingle family offices
North America3,180
Asia Pacific2,290
Europe2,020
Middle East290
South America190
Africa60

Deloitte estimates about 8,030 single family offices worldwide in 2024. The regional figures describe the institutional setting around substantial private wealth, while measuring a different subject from Henley's liquid-asset counts and Knight Frank's net-worth counts.

How to use the rankings

For a country comparison, start by checking the measure and date. A liquid-asset share is not a net-worth share, and a decade growth rate is not a current population count. City data can identify major centers, while regional family office estimates describe organizational presence. None of these datasets on its own provides a complete country ranking under a single consistent definition.

Readers assessing family office structures can use the regional family office data for a separate view of office distribution. The US centimillionaire page explains the available US figures, and the city comparison focuses on urban concentrations.

FAQ

Does the public data give a centimillionaire count for every country? No. The public summary used here does not provide a complete, comparable country-by-country count.

Which country has the most centimillionaires? The United States has the largest reported share in the available data, measured both as 38% of global liquid-asset centimillionaires in Henley's 2023 report and over 40% of US$100 million-plus net-worth individuals in Knight Frank's 2025 report.

Are the family office figures centimillionaire counts? No. Deloitte's regional figures count single family offices. Henley counts people by liquid investable wealth, while Knight Frank counts people by net worth.
